Programs
Trap Neuter Return (TNR): We are active supporters of TNR animal control programs and implement our version of TNR in all of
our colonies.
We will help you trap your feral cats/kittens, arrange for transport
to/from either the Alabama Spay-Neuter Clinic or to one of our vet
sponsors and then help you release your animals back into their
environment once they have been fixed.

We do not have a facility to house rescue animals so we can't take
unwanted animals off your hands. You need to have a plan for what
you want to do with your rescue cats/kittens before we will stat the
trapping process.
Also, we will not transport rescue cats/kittens to an animal control
facility. These facilities have a history of immediately
destroying feral cats which is a practice we do not condone.
So what is the big deal about TNR? In two of our colonies we
have been able to stabilize the feral cat population (actually reducing
the population by 25% with adoptions in one case). We were experiencing
a 30% growth in these colonies before aggressively implementing the TNR
program.

Bottom Line:
It will save us hundreds of dollars per
year in food and has reduced the number of vet trips for serious
injuries from cat fights , etc. The quality of life for our
colonies has also improved drastically. All of our feral cats have
experienced weight gain and are much healthier than in the previous
12-18 months.
Basic Kitten Care
- Tools to help you with
successfully integrate your new kitten into your family.
We will provide assistance with orphan kittens that have not been
completely weaned from the queen. We don't have a location to
house and care for these newborns yet but we can offer practical advise
based on "been there, done that" experience. We can share with you
how to care for the newborns to give them the greatest chance of
survival.
Trapping 101 - Educational program to share with you
how to successfully trap kittens/cats and how to develop a plan for
their survival. If you have an interest in doing something
practical to address the cat overpopulation problem please come and help
us trap and fix unwanted cats/kittens.
You Are Not Alone
- We are setting up a Blog so that
you can get support and advice from other local people with experience
in taking care of feral cats/kittens. It seems that he hardest
thing to find is someone that can help with simple, practical advice.
